I am a senior Graphic and Communication Design major at La Roche College. I expect
to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in May 2011. My studies have included the
knowledge and use of the Adobe Creative Suite, history of art and design, and the theory of
design. Graphic Design has been a hobby of mine since I was in high school. This is the reason
I decided to further study the field. I wanted to have a job that I would enjoy doing. Currently,
I am doing some design work for my mother’s beer distributorship.
This past summer I was involved in a fundraiser that my friend and I planned and organized.
This fundraiser was a friendly softball game where I designed the materials for the event and
we raised $150 for the Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy organization. This experience has inspired me to use what I
have learned for a cause and to help people. We plan on continuing this fundraising by holding
a sporting event during each season to raise money for various organizations. The organization
that I would love to do work for would have to be To Write Love On Her Arms. Not only do I
believe in their mission, but I love the design work that they have put out.
